     MALTESE BREED INFORMATION

The Maltese is among the most gentlest-mannered of all little dogs. They are very affectionate, playful, loving and cheerful. Full of Personality, enthusiastic and energy, they are known for their sudden and wild outbursts; running in circles, or at top speed in all directions. Recommended as a great candidate for the first-time dog owner, these lovable companions want nothing more than to be with YOU.

Adoring and devoted to their masters, they are eager to please, and can be very protective of their owners. If they feel other animals or people may possibly be a threat to you, or their territory, they will frantically bark and possibly try to bite the intruder. They are uninterested with objects or animals larger than themselves. Bold and quick to sound the alarm at suspicious noises and strangers, they also make great smoke alarms becuase they are very sensitive to smoke
Lively and spirited, they are fairly easy to train and highly intelligent, quick to learning tricks and commands.
Their lovable nature and cuteness tends to make them be very spoiled. They love to play outdoors and have a "thing" for jumping in puddles, or anything they can make a mess of themselves. Males and females are equal in temperaments.

They do get along great with other dogs, cats, and small animals. They are very finiky and can be very picky eaters. Because of their devotion to their owners, they tend to suffer from anxiety issues when left alone for long periods of time.

HISTORY:
The Maltese is an ancient breed with references made to them in ancient Greek writings and portrayed in ancient Egyptian statuary.
This toy breed was thought to have been brought to England by Crusaders returning home. The glamorous Maltese today is an adored pet and sought-after show dog that is covered from head to foot with a mantle of long, silky, white hair. The Maltese is playful, intelligent and lively. It is a very devoted dog and learns tricks quickly if they feel they are being adequately rewarded.

They also are quick to warn their master in case of suspicious noises.

EXERCISE: They require very little exercise and make great apartment dwellers. Even though they love to play outside, a fenced yard is not required.

The Maltese has soft, silky hair that does not shed, and does not have many of the genetic health problems that get passed down through other breeds. They have a reputation for being the healthiest toy breed in the world.

Maltese are solid white sometimes with fawn or lemon markings on the ears but this usually disappear by the age of one year.

In addition, many people find the Maltese to be hypo-allergenic. This is because the Maltese has "human-like" hair that sheds minimally. For this reason, many people that are allergic to other breeds find that they are not allergic to the Maltese.

Maltese general characteristics include: One of the brightest toy breeds gentle and playful, craves personal attention, needs very little outdoor exercise ( perfect apartment dog ).
Maltese dogs are a native of Malta.  These dogs are naturally small and yet they are playful and intelligent as well as a loyal companion to its owner. They are also known to be a “happy dog” because of their affectionate and playful nature. They are also good watch dogs because they possess a high level of alertness and will bark at almost anything that they know is unusual.

Maltese Health: Maltese are known as the healthiest toy breed, because it is very rare that they would pass down any genetic health problems to puppies.

Show Quality or Pet Quality: We do not emphasize show quality in the pets we offer however many show breeders & breeding customers that like to purchase pets from us because of there extreme beautiful baby face. We do not consider pets that do not have black points and full black eye pigment to be e defect. We prefer to sell our puppies to pet only homes and because of small size of our breeding dogs they are not accepted in the show ring because they do not meet the large standard size that is required for show quality pets. If this is important to you please look the pet over completely in the pictures and in person to make sure it has the qualities you are looking for in the pet you purchase. We do not offer any types of refunds if you found that it does not have the look you wanted for personal preference, show quality or breeding purposes.

The Maltese is a small breed of dog in the toy group, known for its silky white hair, though many owners of pet Maltese give them a short "puppy cut" for ease of grooming. The Maltese breed is descended from dogs originating in the Central Mediterranean Area. The breed name and origins are generally understood to derive from the Mediterranean island of Malta; however, the name is sometimes described with reference to the Adriatic island of Mljet, or a defunct Sicilian town called Melita.
